At last the plaice fishing has improved with a record

60 paice caught last thursday the best going to 4.5 lb.

The inshore cod fishing is still quite good, but no

lunkers yet the best just under 9 lbs. The bream fishing has

not materialised this summer but we have some very good bass.

The summer fishing has now started with good catches of bass cod pollock and makerel. The bream have just now started to show and we are looking forward to some good conger fishing very soon Plaice are unfortunately still scarce with one or two a trip being caught. I am looking for ward to the Weekend French trip 2/3 July. The cost for this trip is £150 with overnight accomodation on board. There are still 5 spaces left but it will be weather dependent. There will be two boats going and we will be visiting some distant wrecks. I have availability still left in June so please ring to book a trip

23rd April Cod Bonanza continues

We are still getting good cod fishing as the spring run of cod continues. togay we had nearly 40 with one good Polish Angler capturing at least 10 up to 6 pounds. We are still getting a few plaice and a good haul of makerel.

16/17th th April Cod Bonaza

The run of spring cod has been unprecedented with 28 on and 41 yesterday . The biggest went to 7lb but gave fantastic sport on light tackle, shallow water and calm seas. Lets hope it continues. We also had makerel and plaice to 2 3/4 pound.

summer fishing prospects 1/4/11

The boat is now ready for the summer season having been completely refurbished during the last 6 weeks. We have also bouight new rods and reels and have managed to keep our prices the same as 2009/10. The water has warmed up and last week we went out and caught some nice pollock and cod. Also the plaice are now in although still not large yet. Weekends are going rapidly so please book early to avoid disappointment

My usual mark produced a good catch of cod and 5 congers last sat. The best cod was 14lb and the best conger about 40lb. We also had a nice ling of 17lb and several gurnards!

1/8/10 Summer Cod Fishing returns!

At last the inshore (10 Miles out!) cod fishing has happened with cod upto 17lb caught last week. This has happened 8 weeks late and I am sure it is a relief to all ther charter skippers along the channel that at last the local fishing has picked up. We are still struggling to fond [plaice in quantity but the breams have come in and thjere is nothing better to catch than a 3lb bream on light tackle

My faithful readers may have wondered what has happened to the fishing news but up the end of May the fishing has been crap. With cold water and May rot we were only getting a few small pollock, no makerel and no cod. However a week is a long time in politics and fishing and I can now say the fishing has improved 200%. Last weekend lots ofr wreck conger ,some really nice bream and bigger polloock have been the order of the day. The weed has now started to clear hopefully the cod on my 9 mile mark should start to appear and with a bit of luck the bass and plaice.I am now doing wed and thursday but no more weekend slots are free until August

December Fishing

The weather has at last broken and we went out last four days on the trot. Each day we had cod but they wern’t very big the best going to only 11lb and the majority being about 5lb. The channel whiting however have got bigger up to 3lb but we are not seeing the quantity caught compare with last year. With the recent very cold spell I am hoping to see some lunkers. A good fight with a 20pounder on lightish tackle always makes up for freezing your fingers and toes! I am planning several trips during the school holidays so please ring if you fancy escaping the central heating and spending a day at sea. I have already had a lot of bookings for next year so please dont leave it to late if you want aweekend or a good tide.
